Position: Lead Java Developer (Cloud Computing and Web Services)
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 12+ Months
Location: Hopewell, NJ
This is an exciting opportunity to work on the cutting edge of new cloud
computing technologies. Our client is one of only two companies selected to
pilot Amazon Web Services new higher powered cloud computing services. This
developer work on the initial migration of a current application to an
Amazon Web Services backend greatly cutting down the time it takes the
application to run simulations. Pending a successful deployment, this lead
developer will manage the migration of several other applications to the
same basic architecture leading this company into the new age of cloud
computing applications.
Responsibilities:
- Build out the overall Cloud computing strategy and road map for the
company utilizing Amazon's Web Services
- Develop in Java the code to integrate existing applications with Amazon's
Web Services for Cloud Computing
- Work directly with scientists and business owners to learn about the
project goals and expectations
- Extensively document business and technical requirements as per company
project management methodology
- Develop project road map and ensure all deadline are met
Required Skills:
- Java Programming Experience
- Shell scripting for Linux / Unix
- Experience with API's and Web Services a plus
- Experience with Amazon Web Services like EC2 and S3 a plus
- Strong Verbal and Written Communications Skills
