Min 6-7 years of experience in *QA* (not just overall) . Very detailed & organized and can work with minimum direction . Excellent analysis skills with ability to think logically . Extensive experience with identifying test coverage and 'break scenarios' . Can independently analyze available complex requirements (with nested business rules) and develop detailed test cases (positive, negative) OR, . Can work under minimum supervision to analyze applications with little or no supporting documentation and develop test cases around them . Excellent documentation skills; can author detailed test plans and test cases . Can develop test data bed by researching relevant data sources (including SQL databases using queries) . Perform functional testing and report defects using Excel, SharePoint Issue Tracker . Perform manual regression testing of limited scope by intelligently identifying high impact areas . Maintain all documentation in an organized manner (using SharePoint) . Understands Configuration Management and code versioning . Tech reqs: MS Office (especially Excel), SharePoint, SQL (simple to moderately complex queries) . Driven, teachable and Motivated . Can gel with a team of peers and superiors . Domain experience in the Payment Processing industry or United States Taxes is a big plus Summary: Responsible for the creation, implementation and execution of test plans, test scripts and test cases for software project releases. Performs under minimal supervision significantly complex testing of software applications. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: . Develops and maintains master test plan for software project releases. . Manages the overall test process per the testing methodology, and ensures the testing methods meet the specifications. . Specifies and coordinates the creation and maintenance of relevant test environments and infrastructure. Uses script checks to verify a healthy test environment. . Designs, develops and executes software test plans for assigned area or application(s). . Develops, maintains and upgrades manual test scripts, utilities, simulators, data sets and other programmatic test tools required to execute test plans. . Effectively communicates testing activities and findings in oral and written forms. . Controls and manages daily test activities for assigned area or application(s). . Analyzes and writes test standards and procedures. . Identifies risks and develops mitigation strategies. . Evaluates the overall test process. . Coordinates project planning efforts with other areas or cost centers affected by work unit projects. . Coordinates fail-over testing when new or major changes are made to an infrastructure. . Administers and controls test tools. . Organizes and maintains the test script library for assigned area or application(s). . May mentor or train other Test Analysts in processes, methods, tools and best practices. . Performs other related duties as assigned. Considerable knowledge of primary database engines such as Oracle, SQL Server, DB2 with a demonstrated ability to write complex queries to be used for data validation and troubleshooting . Considerable knowledge of object-oriented development tools, techniques, and principles with expertise in at least one object-oriented language . Considerable knowledge of functions, features, and components of existing and planned operating systems and applications . Considerable knowledge of project management principles, methods and tools that is demonstrated through test projects . Considerable skill in understanding and focusing on the clients' needs, establishing credibility and building relationships with clients . Considerable skill in analysis, solid decision-making and problem solving . Ability to manage change throughout the test process . Ability to deliver results under pressure . Ability to manage conflicting interests and identify compromises . Ability to demonstrate interpersonal and teambuilding skills, working with technical and non-technical individuals at various levels of management and non-management positions . Ability to communicate with individuals at a level appropriate for the audience . Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing .
