Under general supervision, provides technical expertise in design, development, coding, testing, and debugging new software or significant enhancements to existing software. Conducts a wide range of quality-control tests and analyses to ensure that software meets or exceeds specified standards and end- user requirements. Undertakes complex projects requiring additional specialized technical knowledge in software testing. Contributes expertise at top technical levels in particular business processes and is responsible for formulating systems scope and objectives relative to the organization's business plan and requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned and may vary by department. •Develops cost-effective information technology solutions by analyzing, coding, testing, and implementing new and by modifying existing software applications that are relatively complex with full competency. •Strong Development knowledge with experience in J2EE, Java, JSP, JavaScript, EJB, Spring, and Struts •Development knowledge of middleware integrations with JMS, MQ and other ESB platforms. •Apply architecture and design techniques within the SOA paradigm. •Solid understanding of Web services and Web services integration •Perform system requirements analysis, definition, allocation, and documentation. •Participates in the development of software user manuals. •May occasionally acts as team leader on less complex projects. •May assist in training less-experienced software development staff.
