*Cognos BI* *Location: Detroit MI* *Duration: 6 months* *REQUIRED EXPERIENCE and SKILLS:*** : Demonstrated hands on experience with two or more full lifecycle Cognos BI implementation : A demonstrated ability to understand and articulate complex BI requirements : A documented history of successfully driving projects to completion : Prioritization and organizational skills to execute and manage many tasks concurrently : Advanced knowledge of SQL (3+ year's experience). : Java Programming knowledge (1+ year's experience) : Strong data modeling and design knowledge: Data modeling theory, Semantic consistency (across the enterprise), 3NF Operational modeling, Dimensional modeling (star schema and snowflake), DBMS constructs (views, constraints, indexes, etc.), Logical and physical data modeling. : 10+ years experience in Business Intelligence / IT Industry : The most recent 5 years of experience should be in Business Intelligence or Data Warehousing type projects, and the most recent 2 years should be in a Cognos development role, as a senior or lead Cognos developer. : 5+ years experience in Cognos BI (Series 8, Report/Analysis/Query Studios, Framework Manager, and Transformer) including architecting, administering, developing and supporting the environment. : 3+ years experience in the Cognos 8 suite of Business Intelligence tools.
