Designing and implementing modular components of a distributed data processing and management infrastructure that spans multiple technologies, including Hadoop, an Enterprise Data Warehouse, and unique extreme-volume data movement and management platforms. Designing scalable, extensible, reliable, maintainable, and inter-operable application infrastructure features on Hadoop that enable rapid deployment of new Analytics Applications. Segmenting and designing major and minor system modules to support componentized and high performance parallel applications. Working with other technical roles to design and implement innovative solutions that meet needs with respect to functionality, performance, reliability, and adherence to development goals and principles. A strong candidate would be able to independently design, code, and test major features, as well as work jointly with other team members to deliver complex changes. They should be able to work effectively with on and off-shore engineering resources in the design and implementation of large scale modules and systems. Requirements: A qualified candidate's technical skills should include: an understanding of data processing languages and tools (e.g. Map/Reduce, SQL), exposure to parallel processing concepts, experience with object-oriented technologies and modular design principles, and experience with a variety of programming languages, including Java and C/C++. The candidate should have experience with business continuity processes, performance analysis and optimization, capacity modeling, server and network architecture, and open source development methodologies.
