Location: Jacksonville FL Duration: 3 months + *RESPONSIBILITIES: * 1. Track issues and report status to management. 2. Implement monitoring DBA policy and procedures. 3. Improve monitoring DBA teams policy and procedures. 4. Analyze and implement monitoring tools for monitoring DBA team. 5. Practice and enforce issue identification, initial diagnosis, escalation and tracking of production issues. 6. Monitor and trouble shoot production mission critical database environments and replication environment. 7. Provide nightly coverage when needed. 8. Proactively recognize performance issues as they occur and know when to escalate the issue to team members. 9. Utilize Idera diagnostic manager and other tools for real time server monitoring. 10. Mentor and lead team members to resolve performance issues and follow up and provide feedback on issue resolutions. 11. Monitor alert notification emails. 12. Monitor performance impact of all database patches and service packs. 13. Monitor clustered SQL Server Environment. 14. Monitor mirroring and log shipping. 15. Monitor replication. 16. Other duties as assigned. 17. Mentoring DBA. *QUALIFICATIONS: * 1. BSCS or MS degree in computer science or related field, 8 or more years of relevant industry experience. 2. 5 or more years of database administration/design experience with RDBMS. 3*. 5 years experience with MS SQL Server 7.0, MS SQL Server 2000, MS SQL Server 2005. * 4. 2-3 year experience with monitoring and troubleshooting mission critical database and replication environment. 5. Experience with one or more popular S*QL Server monitoring tools. * 6. Experience with additional RDBMS is plus. 7. Experience with *MS SQL Server backup and recovery techniques* in a VLDB environment. 8. Proven experience in maintenance of *SQL Server in VLDB environment.* 9. Proven experience using *Transact SQL*, Stored Procedure and UDF. 10. Experience with MS SQL Server DTS and SSIS. 11. Familiarity with SQL Server replication services. Familiarity with SQL Server clustered environment. 12. Prefer experience with data warehouses, including experience with MS SQL OLAP services. 13. Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and resolving database problems. 14. Demonstrated experience in tuning database and its objects. Understanding of databases indexes and internal operations. 15. Understanding of database design practices, including database normalization concepts. 16. Prefer background in Microsoft networking. 17. Proven ability to work with in a team environment. 18. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
