Location: Albany, NY Duration: 24+ months Rate: Open Skills Needed: The Data Center Consolidation Project will merge over 50 data centers currently serving into one Data Center. This site will be a Tier 3 configuration which brings an expectation of 99.982% availability. In addition to high availability, the project will provide business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities to the clients served. The goals of the Data Center Consolidation Project include: . Consolidate the agencies in the clusters where possible to close Data Centers in an effort to: . save lease and utility costs . create operational efficiencies by using fewer, common tools and platforms . repurpose the space . reallocate hardware . Develop a Statewide Move Plan for Consolidation . Provide Disaster Recovery and High Availability services for new Data Center customers . Offer services for other State agencies and local governments Several Operational sub-projects are required to: . Perform coordination and communications with Clusters and their Agencies . Coordinate the migration of the Clusters and their agencies . Manage multiple migrations simultaneously Direct daily direction will be under the Enterprise Operations PMO Director. The selected candidate will be assigned to manage operational sub-projects of the Data Center Consolidation (DCC) IT Transformation Program, thus coordinating with and taking program direction from the DCC Program Manager. Day to day tasks include: . Direct communication processes to ensure that advisers and decision-makers have timely information needed for quality discussions and decisions with regard to consolidation planning and implementation. . Understand the design of the enterprise e-mail consolidation plan, including the timing and coordination of moves. . Consult with customer agencies on consolidation planning and assist agencies in formulating plans and keeping the plans updated. Skills Needed Minimum 60 months experience with multi entity project teams in the development and successful implementation of multi-year application development and infrastructure projects. Minimum 60 months experience as a Project or Program manager for State-wide Data Center Consolidation projects OR an equivalent work experience managing complex, multi-disciplinary infrastructure rollout projects in a complex environment that includes working directly with vendors and cross agency staff to implement. Minimum 60 months of demonstrated experience with effective team building, facilitation and presentation skills, and the ability to work and communicate with diverse groups. Minimum 36 months experience with all of the following: Consolidating traditional, distributed infrastructure to a virtualized environment; Knowledge of SAN technologies; Knowledge of VMWare products and virtual server migration techniques; Strong skills/understanding of TCP/IP networking concepts; Basic Windows Server skills and understanding of Active Directory domains. Minimum 24 months experience with all of the following: application performance testing experience; BMC ADDM experience; experience with implementing and managing IBM PureFlex systems, and knowledge of EMC storage products and technologies Minimum 36 months experience with all of the following tools: Microsoft Project; Sharepoint; Visio; Microsoft Office Suite. Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or Associates Degree in a business or technology discipline. A copy of the certification must be provided with the FORM 2 response.
