IM: premreddyg Business Data Analyst with Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing Exp Location: San Ramon, CA Duration: Long term Job Description: The IT Business Intelligence & Data Management (BIDM) team is responsible for developing and executing on strategies for collecting, accessing, and utilizing enterprise-wide data by business units across Bank of the West and its affiliates through the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and affiliated data repositories. The Business and Data Analyst reports to the BIDM Business Engagement Lead and is responsible for: · Gathering and documenting data and reporting requirements for business projects needing enterprise data warehouse and/or business intelligence support. · Performing data analysis to clarify business reporting needs and answer questions from business partners. · Developing and executing test plans to assure quality of delivered data and reporting. · Position Accountabilities: · Leads requirements gathering effort with business partners and internal/external technical staff. · Documents requirements for new as well as enhancements to existing data and reporting. · Develops test plans, test cases, test data, and test scripts to ensure that requirements have been accurately addressed. · Executes testing, reports on results, and works with the technical team to address and resolve any identified issues. · Performs data analysis for the purposes of profiling new data sources, researching data issues, and responding to business partner questions. · Reviews data models and report designs to ensure requirements are adequately addressed by proposed solutions. · Participates in the generation of metadata and other user support/training materials. Required Experience: · Minimum of 5-7 years in a combination of data warehousing, business intelligence, and data analysis. Field of Experience: · 3+ years of direct experience in data warehousing and related technologies (such as Oracle or Teradata). · 3+ years of solid experience in business analysis, including documenting requirements and test plans. · 3+ years of demonstrated experience with business intelligence tools (such as OBIEE, MicroStrategy, Business Objects, or Tableau) and general report development. · 3+ years of hands-on SQL experience in data analysis using industry standard tools (such as Toad Data Point or SQL Assistant). · 3+ years of practical experience in developing and executing testing in a data heavy environment (including using tools such as Quality Center.)
