CLIENT: STATE Of IA *Title: Oracle Database Programmer/Developer* Loc: Des Moines, IA Duration: 6+ months Interview: F2F preferred but POSSIBLE SKYPE Purpose: This position will work with the Java AA1 position and assist DHS staff in designing, developing and deploying reports within the Departments new Eligibility System. This system is Java-based and extensively uses the Oracle Stack. *The reports will include:* i. Traditional periodic management reports using Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition and publishing to structured areas within the new system. ii. Dashboard-style reports built from the application transactional production database in real time or near real time. These style reports will provide high level summaries such as applications processed, applications in queue, average time to process, etc. These reports will be deployed within the architecture and structure of the system using role-based security and provide full drill capability to the underlying detail data. iii. Paramaterized reports built within the system either/both the production database and/or the reporting database. These would include parameters such as demographic groups, time scales, program groups, etc. These reports will be both summary and detail type. b. Framework - The system is a Java-based system built on the Oracle stack of products. They include: *i. Oracle Database Components:* 1. Oracle Database Enterprise Edition 2. OIM Connectors; Internet Directory, Database Application Table, Active Directory. *Skills Required:* Experience developing database(s) within a Java/Oracle system using a full Oracle Stack including but not limited to OPA, OIM, OBIEE, and SOA Suite Extensive experience designing/developing databases including but not limited to database objects, stored procedures, and queries for inline reporting Experience with both normalized, de-normalized, multi-schema, and dimensional database design, modeling, and development Experience designing and developing data structures, dimensions and data cubes used for inline reporting and business intelligence solutions (OBIEE) Experience with batch and real-time structures and processes to interface with other companion systems Database lead developer experience. The ability to provide direction and mentoring to other developers on a project using the tools described above Ability to work in a team environment and experience with Microsoft Office products. Ability to transform business requirements through functional/technical analysis into technical specifications and design Ability to build application programs based on technical specifications, test and implement systems Ability to support the SDLC process through post-implementation Support. Ability to perform Web/SQL development tasks relating to the support, maintenance, and implementation of new and existing applications Good verbal & written communication. Ability to logically analyze complex processes & programs. Ability to understand business processes & to be customer focused. Experience working in both traditional and agile development environments. Demonstrated ability to perform development tasks in the above areas is required.
