POSITION SUMMARY:

webMethods Application Architect position is responsible for the overall
design, maintenance and support of the webMethods solutions portfolio This
position reports to the webMethods Lead - Director

 

As an architect you will be required to understand and translate the
business functional requirements into an actionable technical specification
describing a quality solution that meets the business objectives. This
individual will have overall responsibility of the effectiveness and quality
of the (technology/application) environment and tools. Additionally, he/she
will be responsible for establishing standards, methods, and techniques that
ensure reusability and the timely completion throughout the requirements
gathering, analysis, modeling, design and construction phases of a project. 

 

We expect the application architects to stay up to date with emerging
technologies, tools, features and techniques as they become available in the
webMethods markets.

 

Manage offshore resources as needed, provide direction and assignment of
activities

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

*       Perform solution and technical design architecture for webMethods
integrations
*       Define standards, guidelines and best practice for development and
administration integrations
*       Design and develop reusable services, templates and common
components
*       Develop mapping and perform testing of interfaces as per ELC
standards and guidelines
*       Plan and execute start up and cutover activities
*       Review and perform code review and canonical management
*       Work closely with the Solution Architects, Enterprise Architects and
Technical teams, collaborating on solution infrastructure and design for
webMethods
*       Ensure application designs meet ELC compliance (SOX and regulatory,
e.g., FDA), with additional emphasis on security and risk
*       Lead and/or groom and/or mentor the team leads/developers to take
key responsibilities 


 


Qualifications


*       Undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer
Science/Information/Technology/Business Information System (or work
equivalent)
*       Five to eight years of related technical and business systems
hands-on development experience in software development/implementation,
solution & architecture designing in technology areas of web Methods with
demonstrable strength in analysis, design and architecture.  Supervisory
experience a plus
*       Experience with the development tools and environments of
(technology/application) platforms.
*       Knowledge and experience object oriented programming techniques
*       Demonstrable Understanding of Application Administration
*       Basic knowledge of ITIL best practices within the Systems
Development Lifecycle, Release and
*       Deployment Management, Problem Management, Service Catalog
Management and other key processes is preferable.
*       Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines; ability to make
decisions with limited information.
*       Excellent written and oral communication skills.
*       Demonstrable experience in the preparation of project plans and
estimates.
*       Good interpersonal skills. 
*       Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must.
*       Due to the globalization of business systems the candidate must be
able and willing to travel.
