We have an immediate Openings with Our Direct Client for a Long term contract position *Job Title: Sr SQL Server DBA (Need Locals)* *Qualifications* *Education:* Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience is required *Training and Experience:* · 5+ years’ experience with SQL Server Database Administration (2008 R2 and/or 2012) · Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database problems including performance, integrity, blocking and deadlocking, replication, connectivity, and security issues · Experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools · Experience with backups, restores and recovery models · Experience with High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for MSSQL Server · Experience in implementing operational automation using scripts · Knowledge of indexes, index management, and statistics · Experience with third-party DBA tools i.e. Red Gate and Idera · Experience with SQL Analysis Services, SQL Integration Services in order to manage/maintain data warehouse technologies including ETL process · Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory and proper disk configurations · Good communication and documentation skills *Working Conditions And Physical Effort* · Must be able to work in a high-paced team environment · Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment · No or very limited exposure to physical risk · May be required to sit for long periods of time · No or very limited physical effort required *Duties* *Primary responsibilities include:* · Provide consistent SQL Server installations for Development/ Testing/ Production environments, including related components and version upgrades · Adhere to security policies and standards to provide database access to groups of users and to administrators · Work with Development and Infrastructure teams on all designs, build and architectures for newly formed environments · Setup of standard backup, re-indexing, and consistency-checking jobs · Setup and manage log shipping, replication, and/or linked servers · Create and/or maintain data warehousing (SSIS) packages for data extraction, transformation, and loading · Monitor all SQL jobs and adjust available drive space, as needed · Work with Development team to troubleshoot database-related issues, and to report against and optimize all database activity to provide reliable and efficient environments · Adhere to company change control policy and processes by providing release notes of changes to production databases · Work with all teams on production rollouts of applications and system builds · Maintain patch levels and apply service packs · Provide after hours support on rollouts, upgrades and critical problems · Monitor production hardware utilization and make recommendations as needed to ensure systems are working optimally · Backup and restore of files, as needed, for all environments *Location: Lewisville, TX* *Duration: 6+ Months* If you are interested, please send me your updated resume with your contact number.
