- A minimum of 5 years hands-on experience with the following:
- Avaya Communications Manager (Avaya S8710, S8720, S8730, & S8XXX
Media Servers, Avaya G250, G350, G450, & G650 Media Gateways in
both LSP &
ESS environments
- Avaya Modular Messaging Voicemail
- Avaya Message Networking
- VoIP Trunking, MPLS EF CAR Bandwidth, IP CODECS, Subnetting, VLANs,
and IPT Assessments
- SIP Integration: Distributed & Centralized
- Advanced Call-Routing
- Vendor escalation: Verizon, Avaya, etc.
- A minimum of 2 years hands-on experience with the following:
- Avaya System Manager
- Avaya Session Manager
- ACME SBCs
- Call Tracing on CM, SMGR, SBC, Niksun and Riverbed capture devices.
- Avaya AES
- Avaya Voice Portal
- Nice Logger
*Role Description*: The IPT Engineer or Voice Operations Engineer is
responsible for operations of network infrastructure used to deliver
Standard Voice and VOIP services. Responsibilities include 2nd and 3rd
level SME support for major incidents involving the above technologies. The
senior engineer acts as a lead technical expert and liaises with the
Implementation and Engineering teams.
*Responsibilities:*
- Incident Resolution and Management
- 2nd and 3rd level Incident Support
- Diagnostics and corrective actions
- CTO, Implementation and 3rd Party engagement and coordination
- Vulnerability Management
- Physical Break/fix
- Post Incident and Problem Management
- Provide Post Mortems
- Provide timely incident reporting to account SMT and customer
- Create and maintain the known errors and resolutions registry to
reduce repair times
- Track, update and close action items
- Provide statistical data pertaining to short term incidents and
chronic network problems
- Change Management – Maintain the integrity of the production
environment
- Weekly peer technical and procedural review of all changes submitted
to the regional networking team.
- Maintain change log and provide updates to GCAB and account SMT
- Perform complex and non-standard changes
- Track metrics on success and failures
- Optimization – Deliver best of class service
- Design Assurance - conduct thorough review of proposed solutions
against global standards, ensure that proposal is engineered to fit client
needs, accounts for all levels of resiliency and allows for growth.
- Proactive Maintenance - periodic review of infrastructure to ensure
compliance with global standards with the premise of identifying and
resolving problems before an issue occurs.
- Operational Technical Compliance - ensure installed devices are OS and
boilerplate compliant.
o Proactive and reactive analysis including remediation of
performance issues
o Track remediation progress or causes for delay
o Production Acceptance and Operational QA
o Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for major incidents based on
the 24x7 on-call schedule
o Guide and mentor junior engineers
- Qualifications and Desired Skills:
o Strong knowledge of voice networking theory and practical
applications
o Working knowledge of Management Systems
o Avaya PBX and Voicemail systems
o Avaya VOIP networks and equipment
o Call Center voice networks
- Minimum of ten years professional experience with at least five years
supporting tier-one global financial organizations.
- Problem-solving skills with an emphasis on resolution of complex
technical problems and demonstrated ability to quickly understand complex
systems
- Strong leadership skills with ability to focus and perform in
time-sensitive high-pressure environment
- Strong interpersonal skills, including strong verbal, written
communication skills and excellent listening skills are required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering highly
