Position: Biztalk Support Engineer
Location: Miami, FL
Duration: 6 Months + Extension
Job Description:
Responsibilities & duties (Mandatory)
1. Operational Support of the Enterprise Applications (50%)
a. Provide day-to-day support including analysis, debugging and
maintenance for large scale enterprise applications utilized across the
entire organization.
b. Provide analysis, design, testing, debugging, maintenance, and
documentation for complex enterprise applications. This requires in-depth
technical expertise across multiple platforms, operating systems and tools,
and of the entire enterprise landscape, which includes hundreds of servers
and hundreds of applications. Understanding of various disciplines and
technologies, such as web, directory services, directory synchronization,
security, databases, networking, infrastructure and application development
is key.
c. Oversee small projects and interact with other departments to
ensure completion on time.
d. Provide technical guidance and advice to co-workers and others; is
a high value technical resource.
e. Document processes and procedures of implemented changes.
f. In-depth understanding of the configuration and usage of complex
enterprise applications.
g. Ensure applications and systems are maintained, secure and current.
h. Ensure applications are proactively monitored to alert if issues
arise
2. Strategic Support of Enterprise Applications (50%)
a. Provide input to tactical and strategic plans for the enterprise
applications that balances business need, industry best practices, cost,
and alignment with corporate direction for the various disciplines.
b. Provide input to the development and establishment of policies and
objectives consistent with those of the organization to ensure efficient
operations to meet business requirements.
c. Create and/or evaluate strategic tools for the streamlining of
enterprise application functions and processes. Solutions would be across
multiple platforms.
d. Develop, establish and maintain positive and influential
relationships with Assurant managers, peers and business unit customers.
e. Provide input into budget planning process.
f. Perform project requests, assignments and deliverables for
platform-specific implementations. This includes compliance to the change
control standards and guidelines.
g. Review and evaluate proposals for enterprise initiatives in the
enterprise.
*Project Description (Mandatory)
Provide planning, implementation and support for complex Enterprise
Applications supporting our users across many locations and sites.
All of the functions consist of complex hardware and software
configurations and interact regularly with other functions across AIZ.
(Network, Security, Infrastructure, Procurement, Helpdesks, applications,
Architecture, etc.)

Essential Skills
(including minimum years of experience required for each skill)
Desirable Skills
§ Knowledge and Skills (List those items required to obtain or maintain
position; e.g., required to maintain current license in Electronics.)
§ Excellent written communication skills
§ Broad knowledge of application deployment architecture and
infrastructure components
§ Strong knowledge of distributed systems
§ Experience in application architecture, design, and development a plus
§ Strong knowledge of distributed systems
§ Strong knowledge of operating systems and usage of configuration tools
§ Understanding of the software life cycle
§ Operational understanding of software support
§ Knowledge and understanding of ITIL processes
§ Advanced experience with Linux/Unix and related middleware a plus.
§ Advanced experience with Oracle Identity Manager a plus.
§ Advanced experience with BizTalk a plus.
§ Advanced experience with Team Foundation Server (TFS) a plus.
§ Previous Experience (List years and type of experience. Alternatives
should be listed if applicable.)
§ Experience with administrating complex technology platforms and
initiatives.
§ Experience administrating geographically disbursed systems.
§ Minimum of 7 years of experience in technology services related work.
§ Minimum of 4 years of related hardware/software and system technologies.
§ Experience with managing complex technology platforms and initiatives.
Ability to lead geographically disbursed resources and systems.
§ Experience in troubleshooting and leading a small group supporting many
disciplines in determining root cause for failures
§ Prefer experience with major business applications (examples include but
are not limited to Siebel, Pega, Filenet, Cognos, Business Objects,
Corticon, xPression, Documentum, Biztalk, Team Foundation Server).
§ Experiencing mentoring staff and providing technical leadership to
junior team members.
§ Experience working with diverse technical resources both onshore and
offshore
§ Knowledge of tools to provide for the monitoring and automation of
application support tasks a plus.
§ Specific experience with Biztalk, TFS, SQL, UC4 and OIM preferred
· Strong communication skills, able to express code and design
decisions to other technical staff and business analysts
· Efficient time management skills and used to delivering solutions
in a fast pace environment
· Ability to create technical documentation to explain the solution
that was implemented
