*Position: **DB2 Applications DBA* *Location;** Durham, NC* *Duration: 8 to 12 Months* *Responsibilities*: - Help the teams optimize SQL code that is hitting the eODS and MDM platforms. - Support the business and other IT teams they support that design, build and support the applications. - Once established, this person could be responsible for other applications that have SQL Tuning needs. Required Skills/Experience: - The DB2 Application DBA should have 5 or more years’ experience with database design and the ongoing support and administration of databases supporting an application or a group of applications within a functional or cross functional area. - Must be able to demonstrate progressive DBA knowledge working at a Fortune 500 or Fortune 1000 company with a focus of supporting an application portfolio and working with the organizations Application Development teams. - Prior experience tuning and working on IBM DB2 table views. - Experienced at writing and debugging complex SQL code and understands the best ways to incorporate database requests into application programs. - While not the direct focus of the role, the Application DBA should have expert level knowledge of the OODBMS system, triggers, indexes, tables, and the implementation and administration of the system. - Should be able to demonstrate specific application aspects of the database and show responsibility for the Database Objects and SQL tuning for application performance improvements.
