*Position : Technical Business Analyst (SOLR search)* *Location: Virginia Beach, VA* *Duration: 6+ months * *Interview: Phone then Skype* *GC,USC Only* *Job Description:* The Technical Business Analyst (TBA), while working closely with Management will interact with the business areas and the technical resources to plan, conduct, and direct the delivery of highly complex information retrieval solutions. The candidate will have a working knowledge of the SOLR search platform, as well as an understanding of semantic technology. This position requires a technical aptitude, as well as business delivery acumen. Although this is a non-developer role, the candidate must be comfortable and proficient in diving into technical details as needed. *Duties:* · By understanding the interaction model between semantic technology, search technology and the User Experience build solutions allowing Users to retrieve information/knowledge. · Work with the development team to optimize query/indexing of search, by understanding analyzers, filters and tokenizers. · Perform data analysis of source data – to determine implications of the data on the information retrieval efficacy. · Develop artifacts that provide the ability to validate requirements and expectations proactively. · Establishes project scope by studying strategic business drivers; discovering and validating business and technical requirements and parameters; obtaining input from subject-matter experts; examining and recommending changes to current business practices; developing and writing proposals. · Identify, understand and model the information flow within the business domains · Develops solutions by formulating objectives; planning project life-cycle deliverables and resource availability and application; preparing installation and modification specifications; leading the exploration, evaluation, and design of technical solutions. *Experience/Skills Required: * Ø 3 - 5 years implementing complex business solutions, with search technologies Ø 3 - 5 working with data from various sources and determining normalization process Ø 3 - 5 years experience managing Web and e-business projects – timelines, budgets, processes Ø Excellent communication and presentation skills Ø Knowledge and understanding of the best practices in Search/Information Retrieval development, Knowledge Management digital trends, technology.
