*Position : Data Scientist* *Location: Detroit MI* *Duration: 6-12 months * *Interview: Phone then Face to Skype* *Rate: 50/hr* *USC/GC Only* *Position Description:* The Subscriber Relationship Marketing (SRM) team in GCCX is looking for an experienced Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to deliver high impact, data driven business insights, actionable recommendations and performance metrics to help maximize growth and execution. The analytics team within SRM take on ambitious projects, leads analyses, and develops key business strategies across all core areas of the organization. You’ll be responsible for building analysis frameworks we use to make decisions. The ideal candidate can balance many priorities simultaneously, and is exceptionally driven. This role requires passion for understanding emerging customer needs and the ability to translate those insights into actionable recommendations that drive improvements in customer experience. Candidate should have a demonstrated capability of uncovering tacit customer needs, turning them into business strategy, and leading cross-functional alignment. Requires ability to work collaboratively across many functions including: Marketing, Sales, Market Research and IT. Leveraging strong creative and structured problem solving skills, you will collaborate with business unit owners to collect and translate data into unbiased, objective, quantitative and actionable insights for effective decision making. You excel at abstracting complex data and analytical models into easy to use, logical and end-user accessible tools and dashboards that support execution and monitoring of key performance. You will be a part of an analytics team who are focused on providing data driven insights and analysis. Key Elements/Focus Areas: You have an ability to “connect the dots” providing clarity and implications via logical deduction and interpretation of disparate sources of information. Marketing analysis, database marketing and CRM strategy Analyze and interpret analytic output and provide strategic recommendations Analyze large-scale customer databases and evaluating results of marketing programs Identify trends and patterns of behavior quickly and efficiently Excellent relationship-building skills and business judgment Assertive and collaborative, with the ability to challenge the status quo and drive results Evaluate demographics, distribution channels and marketing outlets Design, manage, and deliver analyses, such as customer profiling, segmentation studies, post-program measurement, and other ad-hoc projects Develop analytic plans (including sampling plans and programming specs) A/B test initiatives and provide insights and recommendations based on findings to drive conversion, engagement, retention, revenue and customer satisfaction Evaluate the productivity and profitability of marketing campaigns and assess improvement opportunities Assess statistically significant changes in audience behavior Minimum Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, mathematics, statistics, social science, quantitative methods, or related field 5+ years of Business Intelligence experience, customer/business analytics 5 years knowledge or experience working with analytics tools (SAS, Excel, Tableau, Aster or other statistical analysis tools) SAS Certified Predictive Modeler Experience in behavioral analysis Knowledge of statistical concepts (e.g., significance testing, sampling, etc.) with working knowledge of multivariate statistics (i.e., regression analysis, cluster analysis, CHAID, etc.) Must have 2+ years SQL script writing experience Hands-on experience in accessing (Data Mining) and manipulating data from multiple relational databases (Teradata, Oracle, MS-SQL server) Highly proficient in Excel, Access, and PowerPoint Strong teamwork and collaboration skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively work with internal clients Meticulous attention to detail Experience in presenting to and influencing executive leadership Takes a proactive role to bring about change, applying new ways to develop the business through performance analysis and process improvement recommendations.
