*Hope You are doing Well..* *Please let me know your Feedback….* *Position: Performance Engineer * *Location: SFO, CA* *PFB detailed JD for Performance Engineer.* Day to Day Responsibilities of this Position and Description of Project: The position requires an architect that can translate business requirements into an infrastructure systems design for platform provisioning. The Architect monitors infrastructure technologies and recommends their adoption and direction to IT management. Architect will work collaboratively within a team and get guidance from peers. The Architect will document the solutions and present to Operations who will approve the design. Consulting skills are imperative to gain consensus on solutions proposed. The architect needs to be an SME in at least one of the following Infrastructure disciplines namely: Security, Networking, Server & Storage (Unix or Windows preferably both). The Architect needs to be a solid contributor but will have the benefit of not working in a vacuum. Perform architectural and technical design development for infrastructure projects. Develop draft designs and Rough Order of Magnitude Costs working with our vendors. Translate the draft design into a Technical design document gaining consensus on the components of the solution from SME’s, Project Manager and peer Architects. Develop build documents from templates working with Operations staff for Operations Engineering to build out the systems. Identify architectural risks/mitigations, adherence to standards and best practices: Perform infrastructure assessments partnering with vendors, project team members and key subject matter experts. Develop solution architectures, technical architectures and system landscapes partnering with vendors, project team members and key subject matter experts. Develop joint recommendations on key architecture/technical decisions by partnering with vendors, project team members and key subject matter expert. Focuses on how to leverage technologies to improve infrastructure. selection and utilization efficiencies. Partners with other IT organizations to develop/maintain the infrastructure efficiency strategy and roadmap. Topics include enterprise storage, server consolidation, federated search, identity management, portals, user interface frameworks, collaboration, instant messaging, blogs, wikis, office productivity tools (e.g. Microsoft Office System), web/video conferencing, and other end-user technologies Infrastructure Technology Expertise. Mastery of high availability and disaster recovery approaches such as active/passive clustering, active/active load balancing, cold/warm/hot standbys, data replication (asynchronous and synchronous) and other approaches. Maintains a balanced software and infrastructure expertise in the tools, languages, and design techniques used at Maintains understanding of design directions used in the software industry as a whole as it applies to technical architecture. Provides expertise in technical design, development and architecture, design patterns, standards and best practices Assists in specific infrastructure development projects Researches and introduces best practices frameworks/capability models tailored for the environment that will control costs, provide higher quality and/or increase predictability of service delivery. Works with projects across the enterprise to identify technical architecture development and deployment problems and improvement opportunities. Crafts solutions that effectively resolve problems or provide improvement. IT subject matter expert for infrastructure technologies including partnering on application/database high availability solutions Holds regular meetings on tools and technologies, involving appropriate IT members to disseminate and share knowledge, issues and concerns, propose solutions, and suggest standards and frameworks that will enhance development efforts Works to find solutions to issues raised during cross-project meetings Develops and disseminates standards and best-practices documentation which reflect techniques that work best within the environment and are based on industry sources and IT experiences Develop and review business cases targeting IT executives. Develop and review research findings (PowerPoint), architectural diagrams (Visio) and supporting details in (Excel). Develop and review technical statements of work. Develop and review key presentations targeting all levels of staff (e.g. IT executives, business/technology managers, developers, system administrators, etc) Communicates plans, status and issues to management on a regular basis. Strong ability to create architectural diagrams, and detailed supporting documentation (visio). Strong ability to build partnerships and influence others that are not in the direct sphere of control. Strong ability to earn the respect of technical personnel across application and infrastructure teams. Strong ability to rapidly learn new techniques and technologies and apply them. -Strong ability to correlate current and local issues and considerations with future enterprise needs, issues and considerations. Strong ability to analyze, consolidate and communicate complex. technical topics to all levels of staff (including but not limited to IT executives, business/technical managers, developers and system administrators) in verbal and written form. Strong detail orientation, follow-through capabilities and escalation of key issues. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Good relationship management and negotiation skills. Strong architectural knowledge of key enterprise technologies: Infrastructure Security, Networking, Unix & Wintel Servers and Storage with awareness of (Security Best Practices, Cisco Solutions, Avaya Solutions, Veritas, VMware, EMC, Microsoft SQL Server database, Oracle database, SUN hardware/Solaris, Windows Server 2003, global networking, .NET framework, J2EE framework, Citrix, Active Directory/LDAP, Exchange, SFTP, Web Services). Ideal candidate would be one who knows Security, DNS, LDAP (including Active Directory). Superior analytical and problem solving skills. Superior Knowledge in one of 3 areas: Security / Networking or Solaris&Wintel platform. Effective at requirements elicitation. Effective presentation skills. Excellent human relations and verbal/written communication skills. Effective team player.
