Analyze Production Mainframe Tape Architecture 2. Provide Technical Support for Virtual Tape Systems 3. Provide Technical Lead Support Activities for Design and Programming Teams 4. Analyze Production Mainframe Tape Storage Availability 5. Analyze, Design and Support Production Mainframe Tape Storage Vaulting and Recovery/Disaster Recovery Infrastructures 6. Technical Support for Design and Configuration Mainframe Tape Storage Teams 7. Maintenance and Monitoring 8. Responsible for written and oral communications, oral presentations, and the ability to understand and articulate English in a clear and concise manner, in order to communicate technical topics to management and non-technical audiences, as well as to interface with the internal SSA customer on a daily basis. *Basic Qualifications:* Minimum knowledge, skills, abilities. 1. B.S. in System Engineering or a related field and 14 years of systems engineering experience or Masters and 12 years of systems engineering experience. High School Diploma/GED and 18 years of systems engineering experience will satisfy education and experience requirements. 2. 9 years of experience working as a Storage Management Engineer. 3. Extensive enterprise storage, data replication, and disaster recovery planning experience.. 4. Ability to work independently or under only general direction. 5. Ability to conduct system audit reviews and perform maintenance functions as required ensuring system health. *Preferred Qualifications:* Candidates with these skills will be given preferential consideration. 1. Strong system administration experience and familiarity with one or more of the following: Oracle Virtual Storage Managers (VSM), Disk Library for Mainframe (DLM), Host Software Component/Storage Management Component (HSC/SMC), Computer Associates CA-1 Tape Management System, or catalog solution software experience. 2. Data center migration and project management experience. 3. Strong requirements planning and project implementation skills and the ability to work with internal technical staff and outside contractors to deliver results. 4. A broad understanding in systems, networking and storage administration 5. Proven ability to successfully plan, develop and execute technology solutions. 6. Experience implementing best-practice processes and procedures. 7. Strong experience and ability to: (1) analyze functional business applications and design specifications for functional activities; (2) develop and perform hardware test/debug functions; (3) refine computer software to produce the required product; and (4) identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software issues with mainframe virtual tape storage and its supporting IT infrastructure. 8. Preferred Certifications and Vendor-Specific Trainings 9. Candidates with these certifications will be given preferential consideration. 10. EMC Storage Administration. 11. Oracle Storage Administration. 12.
