Call for Papers: OGEL Special Issue on Coal

Deadline to Submit: 20 July 2005

Oil, Gas & Energy Law Intelligence (OGEL) would like to encourage
submission
of relevant papers, studies, and brief comments on developments
associated
with exploring the role of coal in future energy demands for a planned
future special OGEL issue.

OGEL will re-publish, provided the following criterion has been met:
1) The author has consent (and has not assigned explicitly his copyright
away exclusively) or can get the publisher to agree against an
acknowledgement.
2) And if the comment/study is relevant to the topic and of quality.

Prospective authors could contribute papers, studies, or brief comments
exploring the role of coal in future energy demands (e.g., legal, mildly
economic, financial, social, light environmental, etc.). Topics might
include those related to (but are not limited to):
- clean coal technologies
- green technologies
- geological and/or carbon sequestration
- clean development mechanisms
- emissions trading

It is preferred that contributions reflect present issues relevant to
OGEL
readers (i.e., those who are legal or commercial professionals). OGEL
will
accept papers previously published, so long as sufficient authorization
is
provided so that copyrights are not violated.

OGEL Seeking Sponsors/Collaborators:

If you do not have an article to submit, but would still like to
contribute,
OGEL is also seeking prospective companies/associations to participate
by
serving as a sponsor and/or collaborator in this very Special Issue of
OGEL.

Special Issue Editor: Veronica Brieno Rankin.
Please contact her directly at: [EMAIL PROTECTED] or [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Overview:
Oil, Gas & Energy Law Intelligence (OGEL), the premier portal dedicated
to
"Global Energy Law and Regulation," is seeking prospective authors to
contribute previously published or unpublished articles in a forthcoming
Special Issue dedicated to exploring the role of coal in future energy
demands. Examples of relevant topics include, but are not limited to,
clean
coal technologies, green technologies, geological and/or carbon
sequestration, clean development mechanisms, or emissions trading. It is
preferred that articles are associated with the above theme and reflect
present issues relevant to OGEL readers, such as legal or commercial
professionals, or can be easily updated.

OGEL Website: http://www.gasandoil.com/ogel

OGEL focuses on recent developments in the area of oil-gas-energy law.

OGEL Background:

OGEL is based on the global network of the CEPMLP and the International
Bar
Association's Section on Energy & Natural Resources Law. OGEL:
- Uses the full potential of the internet and web-based data management
to
provide both a short newsletter, but also access to an extensive, and
rapidly growing, database of 'primary legal/regulatory' materials.
- Includes short notes and Summaries - but with access to more
comprehensive, in-depth studies and relevant primary material.
- The emphasis is not on a compilation of 'clippings' from newspapers,
trade
journals and the internet (as valuable as these are as a rapid item of
information), but rather on 'intelligence.' That is, the emphasis is to
comment on the true significance, the essential elements and the wider
implications of current developments. It is aspired that these
contributions
can be written by oil-gas-energy lawyers and regulation specialists who
can
provide an in-depth understanding of what a new development means, as
opposed to merely reproducing press releases.
- Includes a selection of what are viewed as the most relevant recent
publications (e.g., articles, notes, case reports, official
international
agency reports).

OGEL subscribers include an increasing number of major international
energy
companies, governmental organisations, law firms (mainly those with a
claim
to special competence in international oil, gas and energy regulation),
international agencies and academic and think-tank institutions in the
field
of energy policy.

Examples include: Shell, Exxon, Cheveron Texico, OPEC, the World Bank,
The
University of Adelaide, GE, and Thomas Jefferson School of Law.
