Use the following code, place the code in the ThisWorkbook Code Pane.
Sub SelectionToUpper()
Dim cl as Range
Application.EnableEvents = False
For Each cl in Selection.cells
if cl.HasFormula = False then
cl.value = Format(cl.value, ">")
endif
Next cl
Application.EnableEvents = True
End Sub
Before running this Macro from Tools->Macro->Macros, on the worksheet,
select the cells you want to convert to upper case, and then run the macro.
This way you don't have to insert any temporary columns in the worksheet,
and the cells are converted to upper case instantly.
