Try out the option in excel help menu.. anyways am pasting same solution
here.. let me knw if i am wrng in understanding ur question..:)
In an empty cell, enter the number 1.

   1. Select the cell, and on the *Edit* menu, click *Copy*.
   2. Select the range of numbers stored as text you want to convert.
   3. On the *Edit* menu, click *Paste Special*.
   4. Under *Operation*, click *Multiply*.
   5. Click *OK*.
   6. Delete the content of the cell entered in the first step.
