This is definitely possible to prevent excel from saving if some
condition is not met. You need to write code in ThisWorkbook object
Private Sub Workbook_BeforeSave(ByVal SaveAsUI As Boolean, Cancel As
Boolean)
If Sheets(1).Range("A1") = "" Then
MsgBox "Please fill the value in Cell A1"
Cancel = True
End If
End Sub
