This is not what i require, i will try and explain again sorry if i didnt
explain properly, your formula only produces the max ordinal position,
 assuming Moda is in the first , fifth and tenth row, and in the data
validation drop down i select say Moda in the first row, i expect the
outcome to be 1, if i select say Moda in the fifth row, i expect the
outcome to be 5 or if i select Moda in the tenth row i expect the outcome
to be 10. Hope this clarifies my requirement. thanks
