We are having an urgent requirement for following…* *Title : Cobol/Mainframe Developer (With IDMS Exp)* *Location: Princeton NJ* *Client : ETS* *Duration: Long Term.* *There are 2 roles : developer and lead* *GC/Citizen will prefer local candidates.* *No fulltime remote option.* *Note: Some IDMS experience is needed.* *Responsibilities* • Write and maintain existing COBOL/IDMS batch and online programs. • Review existing COBOL/IDMS programs and make changes as needed based on technical specifications or business change requests. • Analyze code in existing programs for changes as requested by Change Requests • Coding new COBOL/IDMS batch and Online programs • Create and maintain existing batch OS jobs and PROCS • Creating new Batch OS jobs and PROCS • Write specifications for mainframe jobs and Online screens • Following standard SDLC processes to move code from a Development environment to a User Acceptance environment to the Production environment • Responsible for writing and/or supporting computer applications, with close involvement in the installation of releases and enhancements, analysis, design, coding, testing, documenting, and production implementation system-required modifications. • Analyzing existing programs to determine the impact of proposed changes • Reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems including encoding, testing, debugging, documenting and installing programs • Addressing production issues that may occur during business hours but also during non-business hours including the middle of the night. • Attending meetings with the Client to understand the scope of changes and/or new work *Experience:* • Experience working with big COBOL programs that read and update large mainframe IDMS databases. • Working experience with Batch/Online IDMS programs. • The individual should be willing to work at off hours when required. • Working experience working with large databases and large companies is a plus. • Working experience maintaining existing old COBOL/IDMS programs is also a must.
