We're running Exchange 5.5 on Windows 2000 Enterprise version. Maybe time for a call to MS support. Looking at the memory utilization, store.exe is using about 1 gig.

You shouldn't do that if you have Windows 2000 Standard version. No, I didn't realize I had to do that for Exchange 5.5. -----Original Message----- From: Eric Holtzclaw [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, January 22, 2004 11:15 AM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: Exchange Infor Services stops for unknown reason. Did you add the memory line to your Boot ini file for over 1 gig? I would want to run a good test on that memory. Perhaps the patch or the rebooting is causing the server to use areas of memory that it was not previously. A very good memory test can be found at www.memtest86.com . I'm not sure how long it would take to test 4gig, but I like to run it for at least a half hour (how ever many passes that is) just to get everything warmed up. If you can have the server offline for a while, I would run the test overnight. Usually memory problems cause blue screens or freezing up of windows entirely, not the failure of a service, but you never know... Exchange 5.5 SP4 NT2000 SP3 We've been experiencing a problem with one of our 5.5 servers with the Info Store stopping for now apparent reason. Nothing in the logs...just stops. It's happened twice now, once at 1:00AM and one at 5:00AM. The only change on the system was the installation of the latest security patch KB832483 (MS04-003). Disk space looks good. We also went from 1 gig to 4 gig of memory on this processor, but that was a few weeks back and we were running fine. Anyone seen anything like this or experienced any problems with the patch. I should state that when the patch was installed and the system rebooted the Exchange services did not start up automatically and we restarted them manually. The latest reboot all services came up fine. Any help would be appreciated. _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Web Interface: http://intm-dl.sparklist.com/cgi-bin/lyris.pl?enter=exchange&text_mode=& lang =english To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe via postal mail, please contact us at: Jupitermedia Corp.
