We had to restore from backup our exchange server 5.5 database 2 weeks ago. Before the restore the server was down for almost three days.
The problem we are now experiencing is the count in some user's inbox is different from the number of the items in the perentesis. So if it says (18) against the mailbox the number of either could be 25. secondly some users are reporting that within outlook mailbox they are having negative counts against the mailbox. e g (-14) whilst there is no item visible in the mailbox. One of the admin mailbox also has (-36) against the inbox when there is only 5 items and when you delete the 5 items and highlight the inbox it says at the bottom of the screen that you have 4294967286 unread items. I have re-applied service pack 4 for exchange 5.5 and no positive result. The Statuesque prevails. Please help.
