Do you get timeouts if you run NSLOOKUP against the ISP DNS servers? -----Original Message----- From: Montano, Greg [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, January 30, 2004 11:58 AM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: 5.7.1 errors
I strangely get intermittent 5.7.1 error from a couple of users while sending external mail (my setup Exchange 2003/ FE/BE, Outlook 2000 clients) I have read the KB articles about checking 'require authentication' in smtp properties I just tried Nslookup on the affected domains and it I was getting time outs. I have the mail servers pointing to the AD domain controllers. The DNS on the DCs use forwarding to our ISP DNS (MCI). I didn't have external DNS set on the SMTP, delivery tab, advanced. Is this preferred? _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Web Interface: http://intm-dl.sparklist.com/cgi-bin/lyris.pl?enter=exchange&text_mode=&lang =english To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe via postal mail, please contact us at: Jupitermedia Corp.
