Aren't most people moving away from that standard? (as it is not very secure)

Microsoft has broken IE so that it no longer works with Internet standard URLs. It may very well be true that the world would be better off without the username:password URL syntax, but for Microsoft to just unilaterally decide to axe that syntax is, IMHO, wrong. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Fyodorov, Andrey FTL Sent: Wednesday, February 04, 2004 5:24 PM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: Authentication WOES...... I wouldn't blame Microsoft for this. -----Original Message----- From: Timothy Schilbach [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, February 03, 2004 3:42 PM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: Authentication WOES...... Hi Everyone, Microsoft has implemented a new security fix for Internet Explorer again and this time its broken some pretty important things that the browser can do. For instance, I used to be able to pull the calendar for a department from my Exchange OWA interface like so: http://username:[EMAIL PROTECTED]/exchange/ConferenceRoom/cale ndar /?cmd=contents&view=daily This will NOT work anymore. I tried using XMLHTTP but the calendar never refreshes. Does anyone know of a way to Authenticate to the calendar through the browser with having to manually type the username and password? We have a ton of the conference rooms on our intranet and we wanted people to be able to book them and view them without having to authenticate. We hide the what the user sees in a frame so they do not see the full URL string, but now it doesnt work with Microsoft's Latest attempt to make our lives more challenging. -Timothy _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Web Interface: http://intm-dl.sparklist.com/cgi-bin/lyris.pl?enter=exchange&text_mode=& lang =english To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe via postal mail, please contact us at: Jupitermedia Corp.
