There must be a routing group connector between routing groups if you want
to be able to send mail between them.

Subject: One more routing group question -- more detail

Thanks for your replies yesterday to my routing group question

When I add the new routing group, I am not able to send mail between the 2
back end servers. Not sure why this is.

Do I need to add an extra connector in Site 1?

Email address space (company.org) will exist between the sites. The
internal AD domain name is company.com though.

Does that make sense?
----

"Put your new backend server in a separate routing group. Create the SMTP
connector in the new routing group with the backend server as a bridgehead.
And and in the address space for the new SMTP connector specify the scope as
"this routing group only"

Hi all,

here is my scenario. Looking for the best way to do this.

I am adding a new site to my company

the 2 sites are connected by T1s,

Site 1: Exchange 2003 FE
        Exchange 2003 BE

Site 2: Exchange 2003 BE

All servers in same administrative group

Right now I have SMTP connector and all mail goes through the front end
server.

I would like the new back end server to send and receive email by itself and
not use the Front end in site one.

If I add a new connector in the connectors folder, how should it be
configured so that only the new backend server in site uses it?
