I have a remote office with a Windows 2000 / Exchange 200 server. I need to upgrade this box to Windows 2003 / Exchange 2003. I will be adding disks and re-carving the arrays, so obviously I will be doing a clean build. The server name will be staying the same.
Question is, can I perform a backup of the existing Exchange 2000 stores (using Backup Exec 8.6), rebuild the box, and then restore the Exchange data after I get the box rebuilt and Exchange 2003 on it? I guess that begs another question, what is the most efficient way to accomplish what I need to do? There is only about 5 gig of data or so on this particular server.
