Thanks Andy. I've already figured it out. It was as simple as creating
the app pool in IIS. Why is it we sometimes get into a groove where we
always have to look for complicated solutions instead of simply trying
something straight forward?

This must be a really stupid question, because nobody is paying it any
attention. Yet, for me, I am getting REALLY frustrated! I have uninstalled
and reinstalled both IIS and Exchange 2k3 on this server TWICE! What on
earth do I have to do to get OWA to work? Start a fire, sacrifice a Linux
CD, what??
In IIS there is no ExchangeApplicationPool listed, and the Exchange object
is showing <invalid application pool>. The error I am getting when I try to
navigate to OWA is "unspecified error". Now, that's a BIG help.

Please, someone? I have people crawling all over me to get OWA back up
again!

Subject: Exchange Application Pool

Good Morning All

I'm having a bit of a problem with OWA. A quick summary of where I'm at: I
am upgrading from Exchange 6 to 6.5. 6.0 is on a 2k server that I am getting
rid of, the new server is 2k3.
I followed Ed's upgrade method, and everything was working fine. I was in
the final phase of moving mailboxes when one of my people here decided to
move the location of the default web site in IIS on the new 2k3 server. OWA
got hosed as a result. I was unable to cure it. What I ended up doing was
following a KB describing how to uninstall and reinstall IIS and Exchange
2k3. The process went fine, however OWA is still not working, and that is
because there is no ExchangeApplicationPool installed under Application
Pools in IIS. Why did that not install? And, is there a way to install it
without having to down the server again to reinstall everything?

TIA,
Frank
