Remember that this is also an non reversible step, if you remove the last 5.5 server from an admin group you cannot put one back in

I think if I were you I'd leave it in service until the other sites are running Exchange 2000 or 2003. I administer an Administrative Group of a very large mixed mode organization. We have completely migrated public folders and mailboxes from Exchange 5.5 from our Admin group, but still have the old 5.5 server and ADC installed in our Domain. We have created the necessary Routing Group Connectors and can verify that mail is using them instead of the old Site Connector. If we remove the Exchange 5.5 server from our AG and remove the ADC will we still be able to route mail to other AG/Sites that are still using 5.5? Will we need to leave ADC, but connect to something else? I really would like to get rid of this old 5.5 box as it isn't serving any purpose (other than possibly routing mail to 5.5 users). Our RGC, does include a 5.5 box on the other ends bridgehead tab with the necessary override info. Any thoughts or experiences would be greatly appreciated. We don't want to lose half the Global Address List by doing this.
