Hi

I am running exchange server 5.5 with service pack 4
on an NT4 box. Both the IMS and Information store
services stopped last week and we were not unable
restart these services, we ran the eseutil repair tool
but that failed. We contacted microsoft with the error
message we got, we were advised that our database base
was corrupt and beyond repair. They however
recommended a company called Ontrack that could help.
We bought a software called power control off this
company. We were able to restore the database albeit
the first generation of three as the last two were
corrupt as well. We user Vbak for our backup.

However the issue now is that most users are having
permission problem. Some cannot access out of office
wizard, rules cannot be set, some have two out of
office reply, delegates cannot be set and when an
outlook user composes a new mail and clicks on the To
option to select their contact they get an error
message that the address list could not be displayed,
contacts folder associated with this adress list could
not be opened or deleted or you do not have
permission. Meanwhile the content of the relevant
contact folder is visible through outlook.

We have tried using the Mdbvu32.exe utility without
any success.

Help pls
