My guess would be a DNS issue making it hard for them to get your mx record from their corner of the internet, if you can reproduce this at will you might like to get them to go through an nslookup at their server to get your record.

I looked at one of the problem e-mails. There is a big gap between when it left their server, hit their ISP server and then was later delivered to our server - see below.

We host our own e-mail and use Exchange 2000. One particular site (meritconstruction.com) is having a terrible time getting e-mail to us. It reaches us eventually but it takes a long time to do so. For example, one of their guys e-mailed me at 7:05 am on 4/02/04 however it did not get to me until 6:14PM on 4/04/04. They too use Exchange.
No other sites take so long to get to us. Any idea what may be wrong with them?
