Further on this on a more philosophical note - It's a really /stupid/ way to accept/reject mail unless I'm missing something. It doesn't prevent spoofed mail, rather it verifies that spoofed mail uses a real address.

Outlook issues shouldn't be related except if your server is CPU bound trying to process the retries of the queue. The Outlook issues aren't a symptom. Do you have SMTP logging turned on for the default SMTP VS? Are the RCPT TO commands from the ISP getting correct 250 responses? Is it possible your postmaster account doesn't exist and that's why your ISP is rejecting the mail? Is it possible to not use your ISP as a smarthost when sending your mail, but rather just deliver it directly? That would eliminate the problem for all messages except those destined for the ISP. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Kim Schotanus Posted At: Wednesday, April 07, 2004 3:50 AM Posted To: Microsoft Exchange Conversation: queue Subject: RE: queue It's the smtp connector to our ISP, but they have this thing installed I contacted them a week ago because they are using a callback fiunction, this is what they replied: The incomming connections is our callback function. It's a simple script that check is the sender email exists. How we do this can be found on http://sourceforge.net/docman/display_doc.php?docid=6747&group_id=1 . Could this be causing problems? It sure seems to almost stop our exchange. All outlook clients get data request timeouts... -----Original Message----- From: Webb, Andy [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: woensdag 7 april 2004 10:40 To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: queue "normal" is a relative term. If you look at the queue viewer in ESM, for what domain are the messages destined? What reason is given for them being held in the queue? -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Kim Schotanus Posted At: Wednesday, April 07, 2004 3:16 AM Posted To: Microsoft Exchange Conversation: queue Subject: queue Hi there, there are 6281 messages in the folder C:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\Mailroot\vsi 1\Queue Is this normal and if not, can I delete them?
