What are you trying to accomplish? -----Original Message----- From: Neil Doody [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Posted At: Monday, April 19, 2004 11:04 AM Posted To: swynk Conversation: Exchange & SMTP Port numbers Subject: Exchange & SMTP Port numbers
If my memory serves me correctly, if I modify the default port of the SMTP server, I have to make a virtual SMTP server on every connected server that will listen on that new port and set the outgoing port number to the port number of the default virtual SMTP service, right? Basically if SERVER1 listens on port 26, SERVER2 must have a virtual SMTP service on port 26 which uses port 26 for outgoing emails to communicate with SERVER1? Just looking for some clarification of that fact. _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Web Interface: http://intm-dl.sparklist.com/cgi-bin/lyris.pl?enter=exchange&text_mode=&lang=english To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe via postal mail, please contact us at: Jupitermedia Corp.
