Open a PSS incident. Gather up useful data like perfmon counters, user.dmp files and other things necessary to troubleshoot before opening the incident.

Running Exchange server 2003, on Windows 2000 server, SP4, and all latest fixes. Issue: All of a sudden out of no where, my users were unable to connect to the e-mail server. When I looked at the exchange server, I noticed that the Information Store service had stopped, and the following errors below: Application Log: Event ID: 7031 Source: Service Control Manager System Log: Event ID: 1000 Source: Microsoft Exchange- Faulting application store.exe, version 6.5.6944.3, stamp 3ef3897f, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.0.2195.6685, stamp 3ef274dc, debug? 0, fault address 0x0004c36d. Event ID: 9175 Source: MSExchangeSA - The MAPI call 'OpenMsgStore' failed with the following error: The Microsoft Exchange Server computer is not available. Either there are network problems or the Microsoft Exchange Server computer is down for maintenance. The MAPI provider failed. Microsoft Exchange Server Information Store ID no: 8004011d-0526-00000000 This happened 3 times in a span of 12 hours. Just wondering what the hell caused it, and of course anyone know how to fix it? Of course, Microsoft's site has no good references to this error.......
