A tad simpler than what? I presume you are looking for some sort of GUI-based tool like Exchange 5.5's Directory Export feature? Doesn't exist. CSVDE and LDIFDE are both quite easy to use. Sure they take a little bit of time to figure out the parameters, but after that they are very quick.
