How many servers n your org total? -----Original Message----- From: Dolphin, Jeff [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Posted At: Friday, May 07, 2004 11:20 AM Posted To: swynk Conversation: Weeeeird one...or...a challenge! Subject: Weeeeird one...or...a challenge! Exchange 5.5 SP4 on Win2k SP4. I'm trying to re-install Exchange because of a deleted Service Acct. I have Service Acct rights for Org, Site but not recipients. My ultimate goal is to upgrade to Exchange 2003. Phase 1) Renamed the old Pub, Priv, and Dir, reinstalled Exchange w/ sp4, -patched it, and everything came back with exactly the same issues as before! My users were there everything seemed cool, but the "unknown Acct" was still the Service Acct for recipients! Phase2) Everything is back to square 1. Ran a directory export to a .csv, Re-installed Exchange, tried to import the directory back to the freshly installed Exchange server (with hopes I could just put the original Priv and Pub back in and -patch it) but received tons of errors. Example: Event Type: Error Event Source: MSExchangeDSImp Event Category: None Event ID: 238 Date: 5/7/2004 Time: 8:57:23 AM User: N/A Computer: MYMAILSERVER Description: The e-mail address specified for import object JaneDoe is not unique. MBX:0 has already been assigned to Address Book entry /o=MYORG/ou=MYSITE/cn=Recipients/cn=JoeBlow. The MBX:0 attribute has something to do with Mailbox Manager I think. It appears in the E-mail address column of the directory export .csv. If I try to edit it out of the exported .csv I get errors when I try to import basically saying it was expecting 94 characters and the new edited .csv has only 90 characters(?). I have since uninstalled MM but the attribute remains. I have been working with Microsoft PSS on this and I am going to call them tonight again to try and get this resolved. If anyone has any ideas please throw them out there! I reeeaaallly don't want to go to each user and .pst everything! _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Web Interface: http://intm-dl.sparklist.com/cgi-bin/lyris.pl?enter=exchange&text_mode=& lang=english To unsubscribe send a blank email to %%email.unsub%% Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe via postal mail, please contact us at: Jupitermedia Corp.
