You mean the distinguished name? That is of course, unique to the mailbox. I
havent seen Exmerge break existing meeting requests when moving a mailbox
between sites. Some of the things we experience however are loss of
permissions on delegated folders, screwed up PDLs/DLs and sometimes loss of
Outlook rules. It certainly has some drawbacks, but Im not sure if
recreating the new mailbox beforehand is going to do much good in that
regard. SMTP addresses have to be unique throughout the org, so even if you
create the new mbx beforehand , it cant receive new mail for that address
until you have removed the original SMTP address from the first mbx, wait
for replication, and then re-add it the new. But, to answer the original
question, scripting the creation of the new mbxs is probably the easiest way
to go for a large number <g>

Thanks Andy, it was more the "best" way to create the mailbox on the other
server before doing the import.

I did a little googling and found various references to csv's and suchlike,
and adding an X500 address to the new mailbox so that existing meeting
requests and suchlike would still reference the newly created mailbox?
