Perhaps a exch2003 STD server could front end exchange 2000?
there are some limitations in using E2k3 to FE a E2k mail domain , but cannot remember

Subject: Cell Phone/PDA Email with Exchange

Good afternoon,
We are currently running Exchange 2000 SP3 and one of our executives just
got a PDA Cellphone and wants to check his email from his phone. I would
prefer to not use SMTP or POP3 beacuse of security concerns. Has anyone
else faced this problem? Does anyone have a recommendation on how to handle
this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
