Hi - I have this situation where the domain name of a new server that will do IMS duties cannot be used in the public DNS space. The server sits in an AD domain with a primary suffix of "ad.domain.com" and it will be accepting email for another domain called "real.domain.com". However in the public DNS I cannot use the primary suffix domain name, big secret...
So I am thinking that I can enter "secondary" suffix into the connection specific entry in the servers' IP config. The question then becomes will that work for DNS MX lookups and reverse DNS? And will there need to be anything further done on the backend to say register the secondary name. Hope this makes since cause it flipped out the Exchange help folks at PSS...
