Arch,
 I just installed the same drive for backing up a small Network including
Exchange. The Iomega software definitely does not support Exchange. When I
registered the drive I also want thru a survey were I suggested that would
be a good feature for them to add to their software. I am using something
similar to the "kludge" that Eric suggested :-) and it's working fairly
well. I have NTBACKUP creating the bkf file directly on the REV disk and
then just swap the disk as appropriate.

<kludge>
One option is to use NTBackup to create a Backup file of the various
exchange databases and then use the Iomega software to backup the .BKF file.
Backup Exec 8.6 could also do the same thing with a Backup-to-Disk folder.
This assumes you have enough free space to do a full backup of the exchange
databases.
</kludge>

Backup Exec 8.6 does work with Exchange 2000. I've used it with a previous
company.

No clue about Iomega supporting Exchange 2000 natively, but I would assume
it probably doesn't.

Subject: Iomega REV 35 and MS-Exchange

I was looking around for a cheap backup solution for my Dad yesterday. He is
running Exchange 2000 and has about 30GB of data in different files. One if
the items I found was a Iomega REV 35GB/90GB drive. He has Backup Exec 8.6
which works with Exchange 2000 (though not supported). I inquired to Iomega
as to if the backup software that comes with their drive works with Exchange
2000 and got the non answer shown below. Does anyone have any experience
using this drive?

Thanks,

Arch Willingham

Iomega REV 35GB/90GB drive
Capacity = 90GB compressed
Speed = 25MB per second
Cost = $349.77
Tape/cartridge cost = $60.00 (or four for $200.00)

I understand that you would like to know if the Iomega Automatic Backup Pro
software that comes with the Iomega REV35 drive will backup MS-Exchange
2000.

Please note that we have not tested backing MS-Exchange 2000 with Iomega
Automatic backup Pro. Therefore, we cannot say that it will backup
MS-Exchange 2000.
