If you want to start fresh, then follow the KB article on how to manually remove an Exchange organization from AD and start over with the ForestPrep.

When it's up, I'll be recreating all of the mailboxes from my 5.5 server. I've made it all the way throught the forestprep/domainprep etc with no problems. However, when I actually get to the exchange installation step, I get this error message: "Setup cannot continue because one or more of the following conditions was detected: Could not bind to Microsoft Exchange Directory Server BNMAIL. The Microsoft Exchange Server computer does not respond. Please refer to the .." It refers me to the exchange CD documentation cd, which I've poured over with no success. The catch is that the server "BNMAIL" the error message refers to is an *old* exchange server that hasn't been used in years. It's not even on the network any more. Anyways, I'm guessing that BNMAIL must exist in the Windows 2000 Active Directory directory somewhere, and the new 2k3 server thinks it needs to contact this server. Is there any way to resolve this?
