Subject: [5] RE: Exchange 5.5 - Defrag and Integ check (automating)

Thanks for your comments Tony.

New hardware is happening in about 3 months. I wonder how NT4.0 will take
to the new hardware. I'm concerned about driver compatibility (RAID,
motherboard, video, network) for Windows NT. Unfortunately, I do not +$15K
in my budget to upgrade to the latest Exchange and Windows Server.

That's odd, by the book, MS recommends an off-line defrag every 3 months.
I've always laughed at that recommendation but I do a defrag at least once a
year and integ checks once every 4-6 months and backup tape verification
checks every month.

Since my last defrag, I've deleted about 15 users and I know I can reduce
the priv by at least 2gb. 2gb less fat makes me happier and I'll sleep
better at night. <g>

>Are you seeing errors that indicate a problem.

No but like I stated, the stores have grown too large.

Best regards,
Shawn
