Thanks, but this was fixed when they used our WINS servers, although they
previously did not do this and it worked. One of those networking/politics
problems, they manage their own subdomain.

How are trust relationships set up between the domains?  
not
Which account do the users log into?  
Neither when logging into the workstation, into my NT domain when accessing
their email
Do they have two separate accounts?  
yes
How are they changing their password.
Ctrl alt delete, but outlook change passowrd did not work either.

We are still running exchange 5.5 on an NT4 domain. One dept here has set up
an active directory. The users in this subdomain can now not change their
email passwords. They can ping the primary domain controller and can access
their email normally.

They get the error 'Passwords for the following resource did not
synchronise.  The attempt to change the password failed, the error code was
0x547(1351)'

Which apparently means Error 0x547 (1351 decimal) = "Configuration
information could not be read from the domain controller, either because the
machine is unavailable, or access has been denied."

The few references I can find to this all relate to Active directory. Is
there a way round this? Or any other solution? Or Cause?
