Hi all, we had a Exchange 5.5 front end web server for OWA. Since the backend is now Exchange 2003, we went ahead and upgraded the front end to Exchange 2003, with the purpose of the machine being a FE box only.
I uninstalled Exchange 5.5 OWA components from the FE box and then installed MSX2003, SP1 for MSX and designated the box as FE. Removed both the public and private stores but left the storage group present. All seems to be working fine (users can log on and do anything they need to, also working for OMA), but it seems when someone logs into a mailbox via OWA, a warning appears in the FE event log as follows: Event ID 14 Source W3SVC The HTTP filter DLL C:\WINNT\exchfilt.dll failed to load. >From what I have seen so far, this file only appears to be used for OWA in MSX 5.5, and is a leftover registration in IIS that needs to be manually removed as uninstalling OWA 5.5 does not unregister this file with IIS. Would it be a safe assumption that I can just follow the guides to stop IIS using this file, or is something else afoot? If theres more to it, can you please let me know what the best steps are to resolve this issue.
