A couple of my users (me included) have had Outlook crash when we try to use "Tools Recover Deleted Items".
The list of messages tries to enumerate, then crashes Outlook. Others have noticed an extreme slow down of the dialog, but don't have the crashes. The problem occurs on Outlook 2000, XP and Outlook 2003 clients talking to an Exchange 2000 Enterprise server. The reason I believe it is trying to enumerate is that before the crash I can see a flicker of message icons without subjects or senders. Occasionally it won't crash the client, but will display an empty list of recoverable items. Any ideas? My system cleanup wizard is set to purge deleted items older than 30 days. Is it possible that it is building up too many items? If so is there a switch I can use in Outlook to purge the deleted items recovery folder the way there is for server rules?
