We are running Exchange 5.5, it seems that out Outbound queue is filling with NDR's with a invalid return address. We are getting several thousand per day. Any recommendations to get this reduced? What are other admins doing to fight similar problems? In today's day and age with the massive dictionary attacks and bad lists from spammers, plus the Outlook virus's you must have a system that checks for valid address during the initiation connection. Then at that point it 5xx's the connection so you do not generate the NDR's. The sending server is then responsible for the NDR to the original sender. Don't think 5.5 will do that. It is time to get away from 5.5, imho.
