Environment:
Exchange servers: Ex5.5 SP4 on Win2k SP4
Backup server: Veritas 9.1, Rev 4691 on Win2k3 Standard, fully
patched.
Admin workstation: WinXP SP1 with Ex5.5 SP4 Admin Console
installed.
Problem:
Need to install the Exchange 5.5 Admin Console on the new Veritas BE 9.1
server, in order to start backing up my Exchnge servers. I started up the
install, clicked on the "Setup Server" option, then clicked on the "MS
Exchange Server 5.5" option...however nothing happened. I saw what looked
to be a command prompt flash briefly behind the menu, but it went away
immediately.
Am I going to be able to install the Exchange 5.5 console on Win2k3? I
looked briefly through the list archives and couldn't find anything. I
looked through the MSKB and found this:
Exchange Server Compatibility with Windows Server 2003

Which would seem to indicate to me, that while not supported, Exchange 5.5
should work on Win2k3 Standard...yes?
